Congratulations to T1EHL alum and former Los Angeles Jr. King player Cooper Haar on his commitment to play NCAA Division I hockey at Canisius College.

Haar, a 1999-born forward, will attend Canisius following his junior career with the NAHL Aberdeen Wings. This season he has totaled 14 goals for 36 points through 30 games.

He tweeted: “I am honored to announce my commitment to play Division 1 hockey at Canisius College. I want to thank all the great coaches, teammates, billets, friends and my family who have helped me get to this point. #Griffs

“Cooper has added a great dimension to our team this season,” said Wings Head Coach Scott Langer. “He’s a mature player who has a tremendous leadership qualities. He cares only about the team’s success and his high level of energy is infectious."

Haar recorded three assists in two games at this month’s highly-scouted NAHL Top Prospects Tournament, which was showcased in Massachusetts.

“Cooper plays fast, especially for his size (6-foot-3, 205 pounds), and he has the ability to make plays and score big goals," Langer added. “He’ll have great success at the Division I level.”

Located in Buffalo, N.Y., Canisius is a member of the Atlantic Hockey Association.
