Congratulations to T1EHL alumni and former player for the St. Louis AAA Blues Ben Bishop on being named a finalist for the Vezina Trophy in the NHL Awards.
The Vezina Trophy is awarded to the goalkeeper adjudged to be the best at his position. Bishop is a three-time finalist for the award.
Bishop is the goalie for the Dallas Stars and set new career-highs this season, finishing top three in the NHL in save percentage (.934), goals-against average (1.98) and shutouts (seven).
He was a key player in helping Dallas back to its first playoff appearance since 2015-16 and really came in late in the season, when he went 8-1-0 with a 0.78 GAA and .972 save percentage in his last 10 games. That stretch included career and team-best shutout streak that ran 233:04 from March 2-19.
Bishop was named a finalist along with NY Islanders’ Robin Lehner and Tampa Bay’s Andrei Vasilevskiy. Vasilevskiy was ultimately named the winner during the awards on Wednesday, June 19.
T1EHL is proud of Bishop and all of his accomplishments this season. Where do you go from here? Everywhere.
