Trevor Scherer Of the Ohio Blue Jackets AAA Picked First Overall in Recent NA3HL Draft

By T1EHL Staff, 05/03/19, 9:00AM CDT

Trevor Scherer is a one-of-a-kind player that works hard each time he steps onto the ice. Each year of hockey that Scherer has played, has been leading him up to this point in his career. Recently, on April 18, 2019, the NA3HL Draft took place and Scherer was selected first overall in the draft by the Wilkes- Barre/Scranton Knights.

This is a huge accomplishment, to be selected first overall. Scherer is a product of the Ohio AAA Blue Jackets and spent time refining his skill and working on his game playing on the U15, U16, and U18 teams within these past three seasons. Scherer is a native of Hilliard, Ohio and is a key defenseman for his team.

Just within this season, Scherer scored a total of 2 goals and picked up 5 assists in the 36 games played. Head coach for the Ohio Blue Jackets U18, Ed Gingher, is beyond excited for his player to be selected first. Here is what he had to say about Scherer, “Anytime you get taken #1 overall, it’s special. Trevor has worked very hard and it’s nice to see him get some recognition for his work”.

We are very proud of Trevor and T1EHL would like to congratulate him, his family, and the entire Ohio Blue Jackets AAA organization on this amazing accomplishment! We are looking forward to watching him play with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights next season.
